The heart of Hospital Radio Yare
Hospital Radio Yare broadcasts from a Studio located
in the grounds of the Northgate Hospital in Great Yarmouth. While most shows are
solo projects by our volunteer Presenters we have an additional two seats for guests.
Our record library contains over 80,000 individual recordings from old LP's and
singles right through to CD's, Minidisk and MP3. We also have a powerful computer
system which stores our music on a server so that it can be played at the touch
of a button on our studio computer as well as on continuous loop when our live broadcasting
service shuts down over night.

Myriad
Music Automated Playout System
Our current computer system uses a piece of software called Myriad organise our
saved music and play it on demand.
The Audiowall
To play a track, our presenters simply select it from the boxes show and click the
play button! Defiantly a lot easier than the days of Vinyl!
Automated Playout
When a presenter isn't in the studio to manually select the tracks, the computer
selects them for us. It knows what time of day it currently is and selects an appropriate
series of songs to play by itself. This software is important to us because it allows
the studio to broadcast 24/7 without the danger of the computer deciding to play
heavy rock music at 2am!
